Personal Care Facilities. A Personal Care Facility may
provide assistance with activities of daily living. Two types
of PCSs are closest to the universal definition of assisted living.
A type A PCF resident must be mentally capable of evacuating the
facility unassisted in the event of an emergency and may not require
routine attendance during sleeping hours and must be capable of
following directions. Facilities may provide assistance with activities
of daily living, assist with the administration and management
of medication, but may not provide nursing care.
