Welcome back to the program everyone. I have two very, very special guests and somebody that all of you twelves out there know are one of our most celebrated senior fans, and that’s Mama Blue. Welcome to the program, Mama Blue. Well, thank you for having me. You know, I we’re here, you and I are here because we have a little project to do, and that is we have also on the line your wonderful daughter, DeArlyn, you have been kind of your mom’s right hand for a long, long time, haven’t you, and going to the Games and doing different things with her, haven’t you? Absolutely it’s been a blast, I can imagine. You know, d what is it been like to be the daughter of the absolute celebrated Mama Blue? I guess I can just quote my father quote. For years felt like Barnum and Bailey search of my life. It’s been a blast. It’s really really been a blast. It’s so much fun going to the stadium with her and see how many people love her, and it’s just it’s really really been fun. You know, Mama Blue, you’ve been you’ve seen the Seahawks through hot for the last, you know, forty one years now, and I’m sure you have many wonderful memories of the different times and and the years that have gone by. What are some of the couple of do you have any stories that you can share of some of your spent most special memories? Well, I have a lot of stories, but I think one of the funniest ones of all was when we used to go to Chaney for you know, in for the training camp. Yeah, and at this one time I ordered a bus. I was president a boosters club for a good care boarding buses and whatever. So I read this bus and you know, they quoted as such a nice price. I’m like seven hundred dollars to go to Chaney and I could fill the whole bus up. So it really cut down the cross for anybody going right. We all met at Lake Forest Park and we got on the bus and our driver was, this is funny, Russian and Oh my God. So he we got onto the freeway and he headed south and I said where are you going, and he said he was going to Chaney and Tacoma, the mountain, and I said that isn’t possible. Now I know why the rate was so good, but anyway, we had to turn him around. He’s Oh no, I cannot do that. I have two more calls today. I said, I’m sorry, I have the contract right here. We’re going to Chaney and eastern Morgan. And so that was a pretty fun trip and he was unhappy the whole trip. And and then he told my husband. He says so, you know, I was sort of telling everybody what to do in this and that, and he said in Russia the lady walks behind the husband. I turned around. I said, well, you’re not in Russia, Sunshine. So then on it was pretty funny. That’s just one of the many times. But I said, you know, I got lots of memories that I’m very fond of. I love that story. And you know, you are such an amazing ambassador to US twelve, and I you know, how many times have I talked about the the wonderful super fans that I and people that are affiliated with the Seahawks that I get to participate with? And you know you everybody knows and loves mamma blue, and and that to me is a really powerful thing. And also, you know, we’re really here yes to celebrate you, Mama Blue, because you’re the most awesome twelve there is, I think, an arguably in the older well and in the hall of fame on top and so many things that you’ve done for the community, and I know that you do for seniors here in our area with twelve days of goodness. But d this call is really about you and it is about you because, okay, the last segment of every show we are trying to do somebody that makes a difference in the lives of our seniors. And we all know your mom, but there’s a song out there called the wind beneath my wings, and I think you know in many cases you are that, that helper and you are always there for her and you are supportive and you’re loving, and this is just a recognition of you to say thank you, thank you so much, and I think your mom has our land. I think your mom has a few words to tell you. Okay, I just I don’t get any cold. Can’t imagine life without her. I think. I mean poor kids. She got, I think the short straw because she’s only two blocks away. All right, arm and he holds me to the doctor appointment. She Mosiardi two vacuums pressure wardship with my sidewalks and really comes up and he takes care. I mean, it’s wonderful. I feel so blessed, so loved. Oh Gosh, now, don’t make an old person cry. Anyway, it’s wonderful. I mean, I’m so thankful and I know her dad probably had a lot to do with this, because if he goes by in the yard and me and my way, one inch, one inch out of Oh, too long we got, the more out. I mean, because he loved his yard and so she worked horrible. I don’t want no lightning bolts on me. Ha Ha, that’s funny. You like to know and I have. I have a lot of I would say, a loving family. I have a lot of help. I mean, I’m very blessed that way, very thankful, and you know grandkids and great grandkids and you know the unfortunate seeing the artands two box away and they’re twenty miles away. So and do, but that isn’t the reason. She’d be here if she was twenty miles away anyway, and appreciated. I don’t look at it as any kind of a burden or an obligation in my life. I look at it as returning back to love that has been given to me my entire life. I mean it’s just that simple. This is not an obligation, this is just I love doing things for one mom and I do the best I can getting older, so I’m flowing down myself, but it’s not an obligation. I’ve never, ever once looked at it like that. Well, and you know, one of the things, one of the things I always say about the time that I helped my mom at the end of her life and you know, as she got older, you know my mom was she had a little bit more needs than you do. Mama Blue. You’re so lucky to live independently and and still have, you know, the ability to go to the Games and, my Gosh, you’re going to canton. I know I can still drive and I can still do my own grocery. I am and and of course, do you mind if we share with everyone out there how old you are? You know what I tell everybody? Eighty six is a good number and besides, the age is only import if you’re winer cheese. There you go. Well, I think positive outlook helps a lot. I think negativity brings a lot of helped issues. I try to stay positive no matter what goes on. Even if I’m falling down, getting up or whatever’s going on. You just got to turn it around and I have a list of people I call every week in state out of state, and it’s amazing how good people feel just if you just pick up the phone. Stay alow. Don’t cost anything, so it’s a win win situation. Well, and you still do people’s hair. Yep, two days a week I’ve been hair. That is your you know, you’re so amazing. My mom had a lot more challenges than you, but when I took care of my mom and when I was there, I have to say, yes, it was hard and it was probably in many ways the hardest thing I ever did in my life. But I think your daughter will relate to this that it was also my greatest privilege. It is such an honor and a privilege to be there for your parent who has given so much to you in your life, and I know that that through the years you and DeArlyn have been so, you know, involved with each other and DeArlyn has been such a wonderful support and you know, we all put our attention on you know, Mama Blue, and we love you, but you know, d thank you for all you do, because a lot of the things. You know, we couldn’t we couldn’t have the blessing of having Mama Blue to this day if it wasn’t for you and you know, all the things that you do and show her to. Yes, she is, yeah, and you know, I think she saw that too with her dad. You know, he was on hospice and you know, you take care of business and it was not easy. But you know, I think it’s a get back situation I mean I felt good absolutely yours. I took care of tricky. I don’t regret one one day or whatever, but it’s a good feeling to help and make people feel better. I had a lot of friends that that good friends that I kind of took care of about you along the way. But I’ll tell you one thing. I think I felt better after I talked to him and and visit wisdom. I brought him over the house and they did, because it’s a very rewarding things. Well, absolutely it is. So I you know, I look at this as an opportunity now for us to really you know, what we can be as as honoring of You, and the message to the twelves out there is that, you know, we all have seniors amongst us and they might be independent and and strong, like Mama Blue is, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t go, you know, help with mowing their lawn or go spend, you know, a little bit of time just to just to see how you can be a part of their life. And there’s a lot of seniors that aren’t as fortunate as Mama Blue is to have her daughter, because, you know, there’s a lot of them out there that don’t have children that are there and you know, we can all, as a fan base, as a twelve, you know, being twelves out here in Seattle, to really, you know, look to d as an example and see all the wonderful things that the twelves, you know, could do for seniors. And that’s when I’m really excited to explore right and I and going to b to the, you know, retirement center. I’m in the pleasure that I get out from sea and those people, I mean we’re you know, it’s just, like I say, a win win situation. I love it, I know and know what, but what retirement home wouldn’t like to see a little old lady in her war paint in their holler and go Seahawks Amen, and we like to get you out there too. Oh, I don’t work, but my mouth hasn’t left me at my best l for mom can’t to see a canty easily. That’s a dream come true. I’m overwhelmed by it. But the Yardland and Willie and and well, like I say, I got many family members and and you know, I get my grandkids in and you know they can do is get on the roofs and do things and it’s a wonderful feeling just be so loved. I’ll tell you. Well, we want to thank you both for being on the program and thanks to you, DeArlyn for All you do and we love you. Mama Blue.
