And we are here, obviously, with a lot of things happening in the world and I know that many of you are enduring a lot of changes and opportunities. And we’re talking about today somebody that we all love and know and love, I wonderful Kelly Smiths from care partners. Kelly, welcome to the show today. Thank you so much for having us. You’re such a sweetheart. I love the introductions. Can you just follow me? Well, well, you know we love you and you know there’s so much, you know, going on with the new protocols have been happening with the vaccines and obviously I wanted to talk to you a little bit about where we are at this point. And you know, I know that. Isn’t it true that are your staff is probably now getting vaccinated right now? Tell us a little bit about working care partners is right now. But right now most of our staff is going through vaccination. One. We’re going through vaccination to in this week, beginning of next week, and of course, frontline staff is first all residents vaccinated. We should have been part of that as well. I’ll sales books, of course, under on the ticket because we are not frontline staff. So all of those people are first and nursing staff, of course, and then a great residence. Anybody who’d like to be part of that. But yeah, we’re going through. The second phase is coming up. So that’s been very exciting to get those vaccinations started. Yes, yes, very much so. And and as that that process has been going and you’ve found people, you know, easily taking the vaccine. Is Their concerned? Tell us a little bit about you know, what the what the client it is out there. Most people are very excited to have it because there’s hope behind it. I think people are hearing that if they can the vaccine there and most people are doing their own research, which I love. They’re not counting on us and tell them what’s the right vaccine, because I’m not going to do that. This reasonal decisions. You shouldn’t be telling other people what they should and shouldn’t do. You’re always going to help poll that are exist vaccinations and that’s they’re right and we’re not going to tell people again what to do. However, the people that are excited about it, you know, they’re they’re they’re ready, you know, let’s do this, have been the research, they made the decision on which one they want. They’ve looked over, you know, what possible side effects there are. We haven’t had any. Anybody complained of any side effects yet, which is good news. We’ve been using me that fiser, the fiser and one has been the most popular in our vaccine protocol. Y, just what happened. But anyhow, good results and and good feedback and and the teams have been excited. We haven’t had any any negative feedback so far. That’s really good. So it’s my understanding. And when you brought something up, that’s really interesting, isn’t? They’re using the fiser more for the older generation and those health care workers that are on the front line that have a higher risk, and then the Modernay, isn’t? MODERNA is the name of it, for the younger. Give them. Yeah, and that’s when the younger. Now I know that’s by accident or how abouts working? I just know that. Okay, I did my search, but I need my research. I don’t know why, what exactly it was. It pulled me towards the fiser. I think it was just the lack of it seems like they had less aftershock, so to speak. Eis One to move less people with reactions, and that’s the why I was the most drawn to from from myself, if I could get it, is it as Asserta note the other one? There’s one more out there that hasn’t been as pop and I remember it’s the ASSERTA hawkm. I can’t say it Jennicha enough. You know what I mean. They have a bigger name, but they’re the ones that actually had the vaccine for the one that’s mutated, and that’s I wanted to get his hands on that one. Good luck. But the right one right underneath that that seems to be the most effective has been from what my research is, that has been the fiser. So that’s the one I was going for. Unfortunately, that’s the one that we were able to get through our distributor. So it was good news. Right. It isn’t? They’re like a protocol of I’d love to talk a little bit about I know the phases of the vaccine, that there’s plan of how it’s supposed to roll out and I know that in the first group are tier one, anyone that seventy years or older. So that would be obviously people that are our people with that live in multi Genera, or at that’s when be so. One. A is just healthcare workers, right, and anybody that’s on the front line and seniors. Is that correct? I’m trying to remember what that not the light person to talk about the phases? All I know is that when they rolled the Washington state there was like hospitals, clinics, there were certain members of the more vulnerable population that got it first, and we were okay, totally okay with that. Right, you bet. As those men, I was all fortsc how that had to be done. We were hundred percent on board. And then when we got the notification that we were next, then of course it was going to be residents care staff, nursing, you know, there’s a protocol, and then sales people. You know, all of us, all of those little bitterly people, were on the back end of it because ours. Who’s going to be the first? Your sales people, to your tear staff? Well, Duh, right, you’re going to do that way. Yeah, so what that makes the word from there is a there is a a wonderful anthographic and if you go to Dooh, Dot y Dot Guv you can find it. It’s actually the Department of Health. Is got a vaccine phases for our listeners and looks like on this list you can see that there are people that over seventy years old will start in January and then, of course, then be two would be people fifty and older. So I don’t understand totally. But I also heard yesterday, yesterday that there’s probably going to be some revisions with the Biden administration, that they’re going to change that to sixty five and older for be one. So I’m not funny. What’s that? No, people, I was just going to say. The one thing I know is I’ll give you a good example. In one of my memory cares we have residents that art seventy. Five art seventy because we take we take the memory care. You have to remember you can younger in here. How are you going to vaccinate all of them and then have that six pri year older that be in there who also has all timers, sir, and you’re not going to vaccin right? Perfect, her family vaccinated right well, and that anybody right? That’s right, and it’s a one. Is anybody that lives in a long term care facility is the first to get vaccine vaccinated, so that include any age. So that’s the good news about it. I think it’s a good step, stepping point that we have, that we understand the process and of course I know that because the vaccine rollout is increasing and it’s getting better, there’s there’s going to be some improvements to it. So it’ll be really interesting to see how, you know, our state response and how fast things can can progress, and I know that there’s a lot of things, it positive, that are happening in that direction. So work cited obviously for our listener. If you are, you know, wanting to know about getting a vaccine, there’s all kinds of things that you can go on and learn and you can certainly google the Fays infographic for Washington State and it will give you the information of what we have now. So anyway, and so you guys obviously at care partners have a process by which you were doing that. So you’re you are, I’m assuming, have a, you know, whole process of how you’ve gotten all your residents back vaccinated. Have there been some that have chosen not to or overall, are you seeing a positive not yet. No, not yet. Everybody’s been amazing excited. That’s but again, they’re tired. You know, you got to remember these they are have been months and months without getting the hug those grand babies and getting to see their dog. Vaccine. That might mix this possible for them to hug those kids again. You Bet, you know, you bet. They they’re chomping a bit and and we don’t know if this is gonna solve our problems or not, and it’s not going to fix it immediately because we’re still going to have to wear masks and hand sanitizers, stay away from each other absolutely and, believe, see what happens. But if this was a glimmer of hope, people are going to hang on to whatever they can right now because they’ve been through enough, enough, yeah, already. And if this is, I know her mality back in these people’s lives, I don’t care about Mysel I’m going to care about myself, don’t get me wrong, but I am fifty five years old. I can still see my people to an extent. You know, we still have to have covid test and I’m still doing the six feet. I’m doing everything I can because I know my consequences in my actions have consequences to the people I take care of. So I’m extremely careful. Don’t get me wrong, however, solutely. I’m not eighty five years old stuck in an assistant living where I can’t see my people. So yes, I has this. This is very, very important to these people and we don’t get lightly. So yes, anything we can do to get this vaccine to these people as fast as possible, you know, if it’s any kind of hope for them, we’re going to do everything we can, you know, because we understand how important this is. A lot of these people at the end of their day, get to go home and see their families, these guys, don’t, you know, and enough is a numberless, you know. So we’re just hoping this room. You know, I am thrilled that we have it finally and that there I have started to see a light at the end of the tunnel in so many ways. And most certainly we’re looking forward to the days when we can all get together and I can actually see you in person and we’re not doing this so remotely and that we’re actually doing some things, because there’s so many things that were missed. We’ve missed out on this last year and but you know, I know that we’re in a new year and a new season. So you know, Kelly. In the meantime, if somebody has a question about care partners, how do they reach you? I think the best thing to do should check out our website, because then you can look at pictures, you can do virtual tours, you can see all of our communities, and that would be www care partners livingcom.
