Mama Blue Special with Norb Caoili, Part 2

The following is a podcast from a qualified senior care provider, hurt, on the answers for elders radio show, and welcome back to everyone to answers for all. There’s radio and I am here with them. START, how wheelie from fans for good, and that’s FA and z the number for good. Coodcom and norm, but thanks for being with us again. As we talked about our wonderful Mama Blue, and you started off this amazing story of you know, traveling to Kenton Ohio when Kenny easily was inducted in the hall of fame, and I certainly remember Kenny’s speech when he called out to her to lead the wave. But what was that like you accompanying her to on that trip? That had to have been amazing. That was a very special trip for a number of reasons. Two thousand and seventeen trip to Ken Ohio for the Hall of fame was special one because kitty easily, the former Seahawk, was being adducted that year and he’s one of my favorite players of all time, so that was already rue great reason to go, but it was also Mama Blues returned to Canon after she had been inducted in the Fan Hall of fame back in one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine. So she had been back in quite a few years. So we wanted to make that happen, obviously because of the fact that we had a seag can easily going in, but it was also special for me personally because that was the same that the organization that is called now the pro football ulpen Fan Association. I got inducted that year as well. Mark Collins went in the year before me and then I got inducted. So we all are not members of that very special organization. But so that was my induction time as well. So so many things all coming together. But Tie it all together the fact that I would be flying with Mama Blue, you know, across the country, you know, an airplane and and traveling around Canton Ohio. I had no idea what I was in store for, but Mama Blues Yat, he is, she is, he’s it’s almost embarrassing sometimes because, especially with her and Mark Mark, normally I have to he’s usually running the conversation. I have to fight to get word in edgewise with mark. But Mama bleue and she’s with mark. Mark just quiets down, because mamma blue just knows how to kind of put him in his place, which is not easy to do if you know Mark Collins at all. So Mamma were do something to embarrass him or, you know, just say something that will just make him feel awkward or call up some memory that he’s embarrassed about and makes you know he’s turning red and can’t say anything. So yeah, but Mamma Lucy is not shy at all. We will be walking down the air forward terminal and she’ll just be saying hi to every passenger that comes by, every employee, is good to see you, or she’ll say who can put even put the employees on the spot, say it’s staves that you and this guy has no idea who it is and that person feels embarrassed like I should know this lady, because she sounds like she’s talking to somebody, like an old friend, but she doesn’t know who this person is right away. She just hey, how you know, I’m a sing in a while and the guy’s going, who’s the crazy lady doing that? I forget something. So she’s just is so funny that way. Just always keeps you on your toes. And but she’s so positive. She’s just a lot of fun to be around, and so to be able to do that, to spend practically a whole week going to all that together, was a lot of fun. So yeah, I’m probably one of those favorite, favorite members of mine as a seahawks fan, especially with Mama Blue Well, and you know I have, I have, like you, I had wonderful memories of her and certainly you know, I’ll take her to lunch every once in a while and we always go to the same Mexican restaurant because that’s where she likes to go. And every single time we go, no matter what time of year it is, we have to do mama whose birthday it’s. Just find it. It’s funny joke and it’s like, I always think this woman is so full of like, she has so much spirit and so much incredible passion and zeal to who she is that you know, there’s such a an amazing she’s an amazing force for such a little, tiny person, which you know she is as big as a minute, but boy, Oh boy, she’s a big personality times ten out of that little body and and certainly so beloved by so many. You know, I think about all the things that we hear about her and certainly you’ve brought a lot in, you know, the filming that you’ve done with her, you know, just through your own channel on Youtube and and through your own, you know, social media. Thank you to you for helping all of us get to know her a little bit more, because I think you know a lot of us. We may have seen her in the stands and we may see, you know who she is, but you don’t really know the person behind the big blue wig and the crazy glasses and all that stuff. So nor you know. You’re one of the people that have helped us get to know her. So thank you for that. Yeah, it’s it’s as a filmmaker. That’s one of the things that gives me a great reward to the work that I do. You mentioned earlier than Norm Cam is my handle and a Lur BCAM, and so I do a lot of videos under that name, norm can am on Youtube, a lot of seahawks videos, music videos, reactions to games, those sort of things as a passionate fan. But a couple of special projects I was able to do, where the documentaries about the save our seahawks, which had interviews with mark and Mama Blue and my little featurette about Mona, Mama Blue herself, and that is a great way. I’ve been happy to be able to share that around to people and for people who could visit my site. You know a lot of people who when I asked and told people, Hey, mama blue has cancer. This do what we can. There’s a lot of the younger fans who are who small a blue, so I send them Awak. I said go check it out. He’s been one of the original tweek, the original twelve, since she’s one of the most recognizable and longest, longest living fans since the beginning of the team. You should know your history and your seahawks and to get to know who these people are who have been there through thick and thin, way before we were winning super bowls. So it’s great to be able to tell that’s that story and people can watch and get to know her, like you said, beyond just the fan with the crazy wig and and all that down fields. You love. We love her for doing that and she does see, you know, greets the team is it come out and the coaches and and they get to see your face down in that corner before they take the field. Obviously not this year, but when we get back to it we want her to be able to do that again. So that’s why this is so important, to be able to try to help out in any way that we can. Well, and that’s the thing, I think that’s so important about what fans food is doing and and certainly you know we are raising, trying to get twenty five thousand dollars raised to help off set those expenses when somebody goes through cancer. And so certainly you know. Nor how do you guys envision the money to be used? Well, and Mark, I’m not myself. Fortunately I had to deal with somebody struggling with pants. Are Cancer in my immediate family. But mark, as you see the documentary Super Fan, that was about mark and save our seahawks. A lot of the story focus around mark and his wife’s battle with lung cancer, which unfortunately she did not. She did not when she passed away from that and being had packed on mark’s life. That was after the save our seahawks time. He lost his wife to cancer and had a moral service at the at central link field and you know. So the seahawks have always been a big part of his life in different ways. But I know that really moved him to start his own nonprofit at the time and his late wife’s name. But that actually helped payfully. First starting fans for good, because market are been down this road. He’d already been doing this sort of work, helping obviously what he’d learned from from with his wife and then after that doing what he could to help people. So so I really mark is kind of the Guy I turned to who kind of gets, you know, he’s the guy’s been through this before. And so when this happened, you know right away mark, with his close relationship with Mama blue, found out right away. And in the beginning Mama Blue didn’t even really want to tell anybody. She didn’t want people to know, didn’t want it to be a public thing. But it was mark really who said we need to do this for her. He’s not going to ask for it and you know she would probably refuse if we asked her. So we just told her this is what we’re going to do. Mama just got to give us permission to allow us to do this for you, which eventually she did. So it was really US wanting to do it for her again. She’s just starting the battle so she’s just now getting the starting to see an oncologist about what what what needs to be done, and the good news is and looks treatable and I think they caught it early enough to where she has a good chance of getting through this and get to the other side. So we’re just trying to to prepare and have as much to help her, because I know that there’s there’s there’s some insurance to help cover things. I don’t know the details of all of that but, as mark always talks about this, there’s always things that you don’t think of that they might not even be the medical build and even just going through the going through those appointments where we don’t know the physical toll is going to be and there might be things she’ll need to get through that. So we’re just trying to make it so that she doesn’t have to worry about where’s that money going to come from, because that she’ll have right a little, a little egg. They’re taking care of those things as they come up. So you know, it’s the battle between your ears that mark always talks about. That is the key in overcoming a disease like this, and so we just want to help her even though she’s already got a very strong mental makeup and we know that she has a bout as much optimism as anybody on the planet. You know, it’s tough to imagine, at eighty nine, going through this. So we just want to make sure she has every possible, you know, advantage to getting through it and, as you can, have one less thing to worry about. Well, that’s what we want to try to do for so it’s a yeah, love and care for her. We want to see her gets through it, and so that’s why we’re doing it. That’s true. That’s awesome.
