And we’re excited this weekend because there’s lots going on at cadence living in Kent, Washington, and it was so great to talk a little bit to Tracy Harvey in our last segment, because the team members are amazing. And we’re going to talk to who what is called the she is called the residents services director and she kind of oversees the health and wellness and what we call assisted living in our industry. And I’M gonna do my best with your name. It’s NAV deep core and she is with us today now. Deep, thank you so much for being with us. Yeah, it’s my pleasent to be here at this side far. Tell us a little bit now, deep, about cadence and your role with the organization. So my role is a resident services director over here. My main focus is on the residence, on their assessment, on their service fund and their needs what they need. Sometimes it’s not. It’s not about physical health, it’s about occasional social, spiritual. So my main goal is to find the need. So you are basically overseeing them the assisted living side of cadence living and you know I have. It’s been interesting. I’ve been seeing a real shift in senior living lately and one of the things to know to really educate our audience with. I’m seeing much more of a shift of Um really targeting and and serving active seniors, and I think that’s really the main thing, because one of the great things about moving into senior living when you’re sale independent is the fact that you integrate yourself better, you get to take more advantage of the activities and you know, things like that, and I know Caden’s giving all of the things that you do Um. The thing that’s so great is that you can have all those activities and yet if you need assistance, it’s there. You’re kind of like that safety net. Am I correct on that? Neptive yes, definitely. So main focus is modern aging. We want people to move early so that they can enjoy whatever we are offering on if they needed services, they need to care, they need assistance. We are here in the same building. They will have all those services in their same apartment, in their same home, in their same house. They don’t need to move somewhere. They can all those kinds of services based on their need. We will do the assessment and, according to their needs, according to their left will, they can have those services. So that’s wonderful. That’s wonderful. So when you’re doing an assessment with someone, when you meet with a family, when they’re them, when they’re starting to move in, Um, what is all this involved? I’m just curious. So it’s a head to tell assessment. It’s not only physical health. It’s about their needs, as I mentioned earlier. So it’s gonna be physical, it’s gonna be emotional, it’s gonna be mobility, it’s about their ideals, it’s about transfer finances, about everything what they like. We are offered the same thing. It’s not like it’s based on my assessment. It’s based on a family, it’s based upon their needs. It’s it’s the overall health. So it’s not like about talking to residents what they need. It’s about asking and checking the various out what they want in the future. How do you want? So it’s a kind of a holistic health approach that we are using to do the assessment. You know, I love that because you know you’re really meeting the needs and the values of people. I think a lot of times people come in and they have different values about their health and their wellness and certainly a lot of people are more holistic, a lot of people are not as much. So you’re there to kind of work within their value system. Is that? Am I um paraphrasing it correctly? Yes, yes, that’s true. Yeah, so again, Um, it’s it’s not like what we want to assess, it’s like what they want on their needs. I’m gonna, I’m not gonna assess, not the physical health. It’s about their emotions. It’s a way they want us to treat them. So as whoever is in this field, even me, my carself, I want people to threat seniors, to create others like how they want our family members to be treated in future, your mom or dad, even my parents. They need to help. So I want to put away the best care, the superior care, so that I can see the happiness on residents space as well as they found me space. That’s awesome. And we have also tracy with us here, and Tracy, Um, you’ve been obviously in the whole vibrancy wellness world for a very long time in the industry, and now dam I’m assumed you have some experience in that. What are you finding? Is the shift with seniors right now? What are the questions that they’re asking? Well Susan. The most important thing, I think right now we’re seeing is that everyone wants to be in control of what’s happening in their own life, and so I thought, Um, it would be good too for jobt deep to really explain to we talked a lot of slang in our industry, like any industries, right, but I thought maybe great if she shared what a D L S meanes. Oftentimes families don’t even realize that the basics of the a D ls. Tell us what that is, because that is an important thing. We talked about it every once in a while, but you’re right, we use that term a lot and the average person may not have her that before. Yes, so adial means activity of daily living. It’s gonna Start from dressing, growing, cleaning, UM, transferring, mobility, UM, laundry, cleaning, everything. So whatever we are doing when seniors are at their home, all kinds of activities that they are doing from morning to evening. All those activities are considered activities of daily living. So they need help. Of it the one activity. Again, I’ll do my assessment and, based on their need, we are going to only support them with that activity. They can add on whenever they want. If they find they need help of addressing, staff will help with addressing. We don’t want to control them. It’s it’s about their independence. They want to control their life, they want to do everything by themselves. But if they need really assistance, if they need to help, we will only support with the one us. Fact, we don’t want to control them. I want them to feel like they are at their home, they are in their so based on the need, based on the care, we will provide those assistants. So it’s not all the activities, it’s it’s a specific us that. That’s the answer to your question, because people don’t realize when we give them the basics, that’s when the loved one goes, oh my gosh, my family doesn’t want to cook anymore, or they don’t wanna do their yard anymore and they don’t want to housekeep anymore. Right, right, and I think the other thing that it’s really nice is you’re not paying for something that you’re not using. So it gives uh the resident to come in and say, you know, I really just I want you know I’m diabetic and I’m not good at taking care of taking my meals, but I’m active everywhere else. You guys can really customize the program for meal preparation and helping them with nutrition and things like that. And I know we’re gonna be talking to your chef, so that’s one of the questions I’m gonna be asking him. And and so obviously, in in looking at this whole process of what cadence does is you really create a unique, Um targeted program program that’s customized just for that resident. Um, I’m I’m hearing right. Absolutely. We call it inspired living. Our ownership was just fabulous when they had this idea in mind when we came to be over five years ago. We all know what retirement living is out there. We think in our heads, but we truly are trying to have a new approach to the whole concept. Yeah, yeah, well, it’s really clear and you know, it’s so great for the city of Kent to have this resource and certainly Um, you know in in your community, because it’s been a while since there’s been a new community coming in in Kent. And then, on top of that, you guys are really at the cutting edge of where, you know, senior living is going in a modern building and all that stuff. So, Tracy, can you enough deep kind of give us a little bit of information about your community, where it’s located, and also you have a special event coming up, do you not? We do. We do. So we’re off of what locals used to call Benson Road, which is one oh four, and we are just a short mile from downtown and the Kent Station. So it’s a very, very convenient location to Um transit and to downtown into shopping and dining. Um, as we all know, ken is so diverse and there’s some stronts in the area and Um, you can find us at cadence Kent, Meridian Dot Com. We’d love to be able to tour you all, anyone out there listening. Um. And also we have an event coming up with the mayor. We’re gonna meet the mayor and have our second ribbon cutting h just coming up on August. So that’s again open to the public at eleven o’clock. Our mayor, Ralph is a fabulous Kent Mayor. She has done so much for the city and I know a lot of people agree with that, and so we’re thrilled to have her as our guests and doing it in our dugout that overlooks Kent Meridians High School Baseball Field. We call it the Dugout and I love that. And so there’s probably some integration with Kent Meridian High School and you’re dug out. Are you finding a little bit more, Um, you know, connection with the high school kids? We are, the coaches have been. There’s one coach in Mechico that’s really reached out to us and wants to volunteer his teams, and so we’re ecstatic to keep building on our relationship here in Kent. We just came off a golf tournament that we sponsored at the country club. So we’re really thrilled to be a part of the Kent Community. I am thrilled for you and certainly thrilled again. So, Um, we have about one minute left, so I would love to talk a little bit just how people find you and if they if they want to give a call and talk about what would happen on a tour really quick? Well, they’d call us at to five, three, three, one, two, they would talk to our fabulous concier team and, Um, they would just let us, let them know that we they’ll be interested in coming in to see us and have a tour. We oftentimes would do a lunch tour, dinner tour, whatever’s convenient for the remember and show them our lovely studios and one bedrooms and two bedrooms. Yes, and and if you have questions about Um Care, certainly enough. Deep you are available, are you not? Yes, I am my available five years in a week and I’m on call. That is amazing. Why sometimes you don’t get any sleep, I bet. Well, we’re so thrilled to have you on and talk a little bit about care and so each one of you. Tracy, how do we reach you? Please call me at two, five, three, three, one to and go to cadence CAN MERIDIAN DOT com. Wonderful, and we’re going to be right back with more of the team at cadence Kent Meridian.
