Albany Technical College Holds Spring Commencement Exercises
ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College will hold Spring 2018 Commencement Exercises on Thursday, April 26, 2018, 7 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center. A reception will be held prior to the ceremony in the Community Meeting Room of the Civic Center.
One hundred three (103) students are set to receive associate degrees, 251 will receive diplomas, and 648 will receive technical certificates of credit at the ceremony. Twenty-five (25) students are slated to receive the General Education Development (GED). In addition, 78 students will be walking with various honors, including American Criminal Justice Association Club, Ambassadors, Engineering Club (E-Club), Honors with Distinction, National Technical Honors Society (NTHS), Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), Presidential Scholar, SkillsUSA, Student Fellowship for Christians (SFC), and Student Government Association (SGA). These students were honored at the college’s Honor’s Day program held earlier this week.
Keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Major General Craig C. Crenshaw. General Crenshaw began his career as a logistics officer with 3d Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 1984 through the NROTC Program. He has served as platoon commander, maintenance management officer, and assistant logistics officer. While assigned to 1st Marine Regiment, he deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. In 1992, he was assigned to the Program Executive Office for Cruise Missiles and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, where he served as the Marine Corps Integrated Logistics Support Manager and Deputy Director, Joint Logistics Program, Joint Logistics Directorate.
General Crenshaw served as Commanding Officer, Headquarters and Service Battalion, 2d Force Service Support Group in 2002, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and later he returned to Camp Lejeune in 2008 where he served as Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, 2d Marine Logistics Group.
