ohnson County, Kansas, residents age 60 and older may enroll in credit classes at a reduced tuition rate. Enrollment is permitted on a space-available basis on a specified date each semester.
Enrollment Criteria
To receive the benefits of discounted credit tuition for age 60+ residents, you must meet the following criteria:
Current admissions application
You will need to apply for admissions if you do not have a current or active admissions application.
Age requirement
You must be at least 60 years old prior to the first day of the semester. See table below labeled 60+ Eligibility Dates.
Residency requirement
You must be a Johnson County, Kan., resident according to residency guidelines.
Designated enrollment date
You must enroll on or after the designated enrollment date to receive your 60+ tuition rate.
If you enroll prior to the designated 60+ enrollment date, regular tuition rates will apply.
All credit enrollment policies and prerequisite requirements apply.
Cost per credit hour
Cost per credit hour is $16 for those that meet these criteria.
For example, a 3 credit hour course would cost $48 for age 60+ residents.
Payment is due at the time of enrollment.
Additional course fees
Some courses have additional course fees. Course fees must be paid in addition to the cost per credit hour.
Audited courses
If you choose to audit a course, you will pay regular tuition rates.
Refer to the Credit Class Search to select the CRN (Course Reference Number) for the course that you would like to enroll on the designated enrollment date.
You will need the CRN (Course Reference Number) for each class you’d like to take. You can find the CRNs in the credit class search.
