Non-credit classes are offered through the Division of Continuing Education to persons in the community who are interested in self-help classes or increasing their knowledge and understanding of a subject. Contining Education Units (C.E.U.'s) are offered to professional and non-professional persons who complete approved training courses in there spective fields.

Professional Development Courses
Classes are offered occasionally for members of the public in areas such as nutrition, music, personal safety and self awareness. These courses are conducted as workshops. Instructors are selected to teach these classes based on their experience.
Leisure and Recreation
Classes are offered to the general public. The division has sponsored a Jaguar Kids' College Program for the past six years. Classes are held during the summer months for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Classes include swimming, dance, creative writing, computer skills, drama, golf, Spanish, and tennis. Faculty members from Southern University are used to teach the classes. Other leisure classes include water aerobics for adults, aerobics and craft classes.
Southern Lagniappe Society
The Southern Lagniappe Society is a non-credit offering program for seniors and retirees. It allows lifelong learning in a setting. It is an academic enrichment program. Intellectual stimulation is provided to participants. It is a membership driven program and an annual membership fee of $25 is received from each member. An advisory board governs the operations of the group. Members enjoy mini-workshops, seminars, book reviews, use of the library and computer laboratories on campus, in addition to many other perks.
Classes are offered specific to the needs of those taking the courses. Computer Skills classes, Public Speaking, Diversity Training, etc. are designed by the staff to meet the needs of the group requesting the training. Seminars and workshops are held throughout the year on-campus and of-campus. Participants receive certificates of completions or CEU credits.
