And welcome back everyone, to the final segment of our hour to Maa thing. Alison shreer is with us from Zinia TV. Alison is a Alpheimers and demental expert and a dear friend of mine and I’m so glad els in your back and I just want to celebrate what you have accomplished. It is phenomenal. It’s truly truly amazing and I certainly am thrilled to talk about just really we’ve talked a little bit about the science behind it and how we’ve created and what’s on it. Let’s talk about really the nuts and bolts. So it’s like how you know who’s Zine a TV for, and where are the steps, you know, to get a volt? Sure, okay, so who is Vinya TV for? We rolled out the first version of Zinny a TV, which is basically a library of videos, gently paced videos that are intended specifically for people with mid to late stage dementia, and we rolled it out about a year ago and had the entire library. We have over a hundred videos and it’s growing all the time and we have the library available for free and we had people testing it. Both family care partners were testing it. People were testing it who go in, professional care partners who go to people homes, and they were also using it virtually. So they would set up a zoom meeting with their client and they would play do a screen share with Vinnya Zinny a TV and use that as a conversation starter with the person who they were supporting in their own home. And then we also have several long term care communities. That have been used in Zinea TV, and what we find is that for care partners who don’t necessarily know the person that they’re caring for, Zine a TV is a great way for them to establish connection. So when they do, say, the bunny video, and they see that the person who is no longer or verbal, lights up when they’re watching the bunny video, it allows me, as the care partner, to pause it and say you like bunnies? Wow, now I know that this is a conversation we can have in the future. We have created a connection between our and that is really powerful. Yeah, we also are finding that in care communities they are able. We created a lunchtime video, for instance, and what we’ve been finding is that when they play prior to lunchtime, play the lunchtime video, that the residents have now started to get that when I see this video, it means that we are moving into the dining hall and we are going to have lunch together as a post. So it’s a very non anxiety provoters position, because what was happening is that they would corral people, come on, it’s lunchtime, get people into the dining hall and then people start getting agitated. Why am I here? What am I doing? What if it’s why why are we here now? It’s watching this video. They’re seeing other people eat and they get it. Wow, we’re here to have lunch together. Awesome. And then, of course, for family care partners, it’s just a lovely way to do some reminiscence. I think. Like one of the things you have on your channel is Trivia. That’s something a care partner could do with their parents. I found that really, really wonderful and certainly having the ability to to use your brain and to have that kind of a format that you could sit down and spend, you know, even if you haven’t seen mom or down or be something that he fun over the holiday season with with your family members and, oh my goodness, things like that. So yes, again, there’s there’s so many endless possibilities with a channel like this. Absolutely. And then another thing that we’ve incorporated that I like quite a bit, or caring messages videos. We when we were first creating any a TV, we were piloting it, creating custom videos for people where we included messages for that person. So, since there’s a gentleman we were testing with WHO tended to look down all the time and who tended to. He wouldn’t. He wouldn’t smile very very often and and he was. He would be very disengaged. Even even watching any any kind of TV programming, he would become disengaged pretty quickly. And so what we found is that if we inserted messages and we said Hey, good morning, how are you today, he would kind of perk up and if we would say things and then maybe so we created a video for him about Hawaii, because he loves the so it’s why, in music it was a way in images, and every few minutes we would have a person pop in and say how are you today, or say hey, can you show me your beautiful smile, or to say things like hey, how about if you make your neck as tall as a draft and everybody out there your work? Yes, and so he would lift up his chin and he would smile. And so this is something that’s called simulated presence therapy, where you introduced into this video stream these kinds of tearing messages, and so we do also include those kinds of messages and cy a TV. Yeah, so it’s so I do. When you’re saying all these things, it’s like you know I am so blown away and I know that you guys have some new things on the horizon and before we close out the hour, I really would like you to share, like, if you subscribe today, you’re going to get all of those things. That one thing that you did mention earlier and I want to make sure that we mentioned, is number one. You can slow the video down. You mentioned it a little bit earlier in the hour, but that’s part of the program that you can actually set. Is that correct? Oh, yes, absolutely. You just clow things down. You can choose to play one video or play an entire stream of videos. You can. And one of the questions we get asked a lot as well. So what am I doing? Am I doing this on my computer? What a it is a web based product at this point. H and so yes, I can play it on my computer. We have care partners with people play it on an IPAD, they play it on a laptop, we have care partners who are even doing it on a phone, but I don’t recommend that. The screen is too small. But the thing that’s super, super cool is that for about seventeen you can pick up an Amazon firestick. Oh my gosh, that’s what I use at my house. Now, I’m not a spokesperson for Amazon. There are other ways of doing this, but this one is very, very inexpensive and super easy and it makes it so that Zinny a TV appears on your large screen television. You can also plug your laptop in through a cable egg backlud. It’s not that big of to do. I have a whatever, I think it’s called a what is it called? The Day Cmi Cable. Yes, Dmi, that’s what I have, and you can just stick that right in the in your computer and and then turn your remote onto as a manual or whatever, and and it will automatically take that. So that will be good too. So what’s coming up? I know you have some new things on the horizon and I want to hear about them. Yeah, we do have some new things on the horizon. So it is just this past weekend, Susanna’s brandy new that we rolled out the latest version of our website, Zenny a tvcom, so that there is a free sign up and then there’s also the premium sign up. The difference seeing that joining for free gives you access to a subset of the library and paying for it provides you the whole library. It’s just four hundred and ninety nine a month, or forty nine dollars for an entire year for access to the entire theory and expensive. We Really, really want to make it affordable. As a former family care partner, I am well aware of the fact that it is really expensive in terms of both time and money to be a care partner, and so we absolutely want things to be excessful people. And so we’re really excited to have this new version out and we are going to be modifying it again because we’re constantly we’re a small but mighty group. We are pretty agile. We changed. We’re able to respond quickly. We get requests all the time for new videos. People will write to us and say, Hey, we would be great if there was a video about whatever, and we love that. We and I a lot of whales, of killer whales, orcas well. I’m making a note because I will tell you everybody. I mean, I just side note as former president of work at conservanty, people are fascinated with will watching. Yes, I didn’t know that about you. Oh yeah, I was president of the were the organizations for several years. Oh, I can my old days. Yes, wow, that is fabulous. Yeah, so, but anyway, I just that’s the side note. I want to talk also about the fact that to sign up now, you people can come on for free and it’s very inexpensive. But there’s going to be some new things that are going to be happening. Is that true? There are. So we are in the process of moving to a different platform, developing a whole new version of Zinya TV that will allow for customization that is currently not available, and I won’t go into a lot of detail with that because we want it to be fresh and new when it comes out. But it will allow for a families to incorporate some of their own media so that they can have custom Zinya Zinea TV videos where they are actually able to incorporate some of the media that they have provided to make things even more personal for the person living with dementia. That is amazing. That is amazing and obviously the sky’s the limit to what you guys can be doing, and this is so important. So again, how do people sign up? So people sign up by just going to the website Zenia TV. That’s like the Zinny of flowers. Then and IA TVCOM and you can just start clicking around, you will look at Click for go to any of the categories that appear at the top of the screen and you will be brought to an option to choose how you wish to view the videos. Do you want to be a free subscriber or a paid subscriber? And that’s all you need to do. And and to our listeners, if you have a loved one with dementor or caring for someone, or you know you’re connected to a care community, check this out. I am dead serious, everyone. This is a very amazing thing that is happening, and especially for some of our seniors that have been isolated. A lot of them are having a hard time, you know, adjusting now to being back out in the world again, and this can be a really good bridge tool for them. It gives them the opportunity to look at nature and look at different things that they’re missing out there in the world, whether it’s interaction with animals and music or anything like that. And you know, Alison, I am so glad you joined us on this hour. This has been a such an informative time. Never knew the degree of your story, so that’s really powerful in itself.
