A Prayer for Healing and Wholeness
It’s a question many of us have pondered – will I ever feel healed, or whole? Life, with its unpredictable twists and turns, has a knack for wearing us down. And let’s not even start on the havoc that missteps and wrongdoings can wreak on our inner peace. When we take a hard look at the world around us, and even the battles within our own lives, it’s easy to feel a sense of despair, as if hope is just out of reach on this side of eternity.
But here’s a little something to consider.
There’s a Holocaust survivor named Corrie Ten Boom. She lost her father and sister in a concentration camp and was no stranger to these feelings. She said, “If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God, you’ll be at rest.”
True. This world is broken, and we won’t be completely whole here on Earth. But in Christ, we are enough. He is enough. He can heal, restore, and make us whole in His way and time.
Psalms 107:19-20 says: “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”
Sometimes, God doesn’t change our situation because He wants to change us. He wants us to rely on Him, to trust in His promises.
