Did you know that roughly 70% of older adults will need some form of long-term care? Some might be able to get by with a home health aide or an entourage of neighbors and loved ones. Others, however, might need the sort of full-time care an assisted living facility offers. But let’s face it: finding a good one can feel a bit like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. You have to wade through countless reviews, testimonials, and websites to find even a handful worth visiting. Well, guess what? Senior Resource has done exactly that! So, if you’re a Seattle resident looking for a great assisted living facility, then check out these 10 we found near you!

Our research process:

  1. We start by visiting each facility’s website and reading about its services, campus, enrichment programs, and more! We also make note of any awards the facility has earned.
  2. Next, we read real customer reviews on platforms like Google and Yelp, among others. We read ALL reviews, both good and bad. When ratings vary across platforms, we put on our detective hats and figure out why. We also check the ratings of each facility on other platforms, like U.S. News & World Report.
  3. And finally, we check their social media presence. AKA, if they have a Facebook or Instagram, we’re sure to dig through those, too!

Author’s note: While we LOVE doing research and helping seniors, we also strongly encourage all our readers to do their own research and visit each of these communities in person. Testimonials and reviews paint only half of the picture. So, schedule an in-person visit if possible. Take your time and ask yourself some important questions. Does the facility seem safe? Is it clean? Is the staff kind and professional? Are they able to answer all your questions, and do they seem happy or reluctant to do so? Do the residents seem happy and well-taken-care-of? Does the facility offer all the services and amenities that would make your life there comfortable? In the end, if you don’t think a certain assisted living is the right fit for you, listen to your gut!
