According to PayScale, the median cost of a home in Colorado Springs is $546,946. Rent isn’t much cheaper, coming in at around $1,641 per month. And while we can’t find information about the average cost of an independent living community in Colorado Springs, we can confirm that they appear expensive. In fact, when we looked through 55Places.com, we noted that most listings for 55+ communities went for well over $600,000. So, does that mean that you have to give up on your dream of moving to a retirement community? Of course not! While this might not be your first choice, you can always move to a senior-friendly mobile home park, like these great ones we found near Colorado Springs!

Our research process:

  1. We start by checking each community’s Google and Yelp listings. We read every review (both good and bad) and make note of the common themes that run throughout each one!
  2. Next, we check every community’s website (if it exists) to gather a bit more info. Specifically, we try to see what amenities they offer, whether or not they’re age-restricted, and how close they are to hospitals, restaurants, and other local attractions.
  3. Finally, we finish our research by combing through each community’s social media profiles! We like to see how they respond to questions and comments. Also, if they have a YouTube channel, we check out a few of their videos there, too!
