I have been in the private practice of law since 1977. I focus my practice on Estate, Incapacity and Retirement Plan distribution planning. Planning for Charitable Giving, Asset Protection Planning and the Administration of Trusts and Estates. I also provide representation to business owners and professional practices in the areas of business continuity planning, compensation and retirement planning. I received my bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and my law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. I am admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
My approach to estate planning focuses on a thorough understanding of each client’s financial and personal situation to ensure that the client’s personal goals, dreams, desires and needs are incorporated into the design of each plan. My plans are comprehensive and provide for my clients during their lifetimes and protects their loved ones after death. I believe that coordination and cooperation with my clients’ entire professional and financial team is the key to proper planning.
I am a charter member of WealthCounsel, a nationwide organization of estate planning attorneys and financial planners. I am also a member of ElderCounsel, the premier organization for Elder Law professionals. and the Elder Care Alliance. I am a frequent lecturer on elder law, estate planning and related issues and a contributing author of Ways and Means; Maximizing The Values of Your Retirement Savings, a book of practical answers to retirement planning questions from over sixty Retirement Planning Attorneys and Financial Advisors from around the nation. Ways and Means was published in January, 1999.
