Miles received his Juris Doctor in 1981. Following law school, he worked for the Justices of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, in the Second Judicial Department, one of the busiest appellate courts in the nation. Today, his practice is focused on Elder Law, with a particular emphasis on Medicaid Planning and Asset Protection, Guardianships for incapacitated individuals, Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration. He also engages in civil litigation involving the recovery of assets wrongfully taken from elderly clients.
Miles lectures frequently on Elder Law issues involving Medicaid Planning and Asset Protection, Supplemental Needs Trusts and Planning for the Disabled, Guardianships, hospital discharge planning and nursing home placements for various bar and judicial associations, and medical and health care groups. He is active in the New York State Elder Law Committee and its Executive Committee. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Monroe County Bar Associations’ Elder Law Committee.
