Laura is licensed to practice law in Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey; She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bryant College in 1995, and her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1998. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Elder Counsel, and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Rhode Island Chapter and President of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Rhode Island Chapter.
Laura has dedicated herself to the practice of being a holistic elder law attorney. Holistic Law is an evolving concept that is gaining in popularity as the needs of clients become more comprehensive. When asked what it means to be an “Elder Law” attorney, she usually responds by stating that it is an area of the law where “I address my client’s perspective from a holistic viewpoint by addressing more than just the legal issues. Instead, I address the legal and the medical, social, financial, and family issues. By doing so, I am advocating for the whole client”.
This ensures that her clients are getting the emotional, physical and psychological support they need in addition to the legal support. She concentrates in Long-Term Care Planning, Medicaid Planning, and Medicaid Applications.
