Ellen LaPlante is an attorney whose mission is to provide clients with guidance in Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Medicaid Preparation. She is barred in Vermont and New York.
EXPERIENCE
Ellen helps clients put together unique estate plans, including assistance with Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Directives. She also works with clients on Medicaid Planning and qualifying for Medicaid assistance.
Ellen is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA), a national organization comprised of legal professionals concentrating on estate planning. As a member of the Academy, she receives ongoing, comprehensive training on modern estate planning techniques. Ellen is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Vermont Bar Association, and the New York Bar Association.
Aside from working with clients to put together Estate and Medicaid Plans for their families, she has also published materials for other Vermont Attorneys in the field of Estate Planning and the Vermont Trust Code. She also does regular presentations to other Attorneys to provide them with education in her fields of practice.
EDUCATION
Ellen LaPlante graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg, Virginia, and received her Juris Doctorate from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington D.C.
PERSONAL
Ellen lives in Williston with her husband, Ethan; their children, Jack and Cora; and their dog, Sunny. She enjoys long-distance running and spending time outdoors
