‘The Birds’ Actress and Hollywood Legend Tippi Hedren, 94, Has Dementia
“She has dementia, and is unable to remember her career at all.”
These sad words, issued by former actress Tippi Hedren’s team, shocked fans on Tuesday. Hedren, 94, is best known for starring in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 mega-hit The Birds. She also starred in 1964’s Marnie alongside the original James Bond, Sean Connery. Hedren, coronated Tinseltown royalty by way of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, no longer remembers her career.
Spanish journalist Gustavo Egusquiza learned the terrible news after requesting an interview with the actress. Her representatives stated that the actress is “no longer able to be interviewed due to health reasons.”

“This is devastating news for Tippi Hedren’s fans worldwide,” Egusquiza stated. “Unfortunately, her agent confirmed to me that Tippi is dealing with dementia and is unable to remember her career. It is a difficult situation for her and her family.”
Sadly, Hedren is only one of 55 million people worldwide suffering from dementia. While she may no longer remember her illustrious career, she left an indelible impression on not only Hollywood but the thousands of fans who admire her and her work as both an actress and an animal rights activist.
