Dr. Jill Bjerke is a chiropractor, an aging-in-place subject matter expert, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and a former Commissioner to the Iowa Department on Aging. Her background is in law and as a healthcare executive. She is the CEO and creator of the online Silver Spaces™ Senior Homes Safety Assessment “SilverSpaces.com.” After 9 years of dedicated research, the Silver Spaces Home Safety Assessment was released in 2015 as an iTunes app. In 2020, it was upgraded to a browser-based version and a highly enhanced version 3 was released in April, 2023 to very positive user reviews. This Assessment is designed to help seniors remain in their own homes as they age and can be used by anyone, anywhere on any device. Although a senior’s health, abilities and lifestyle may have changed, their home may no longer fit those needs and could have hazards. The inspection identifies those risks and provides detailed mitigation suggestions to create a safe and secure environment saving thousands of dollars by keeping them in their own home and avoiding expensive hospitalization or serious injuries.

Dr. Roger Barrier went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16th, 2024. He was a faithful servant of Christ with a lifetime worth of ministry and mentorship. Dr. Barrier held degrees from Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Golden Gate Seminary in Greek, religion, theology, and pastoral care. He used his immense expertise daily to guide and mentor others in their spiritual walks. He had a global impact with his book Listening to the Voice of God, which is available in both Thai and Portuguese. His newest book, written with his daughter Brianna Barrier Wetherbee, is Look Like Jesus: A Guide to Spiritual Growth. He and his wife, Dr. Julie Barrier, founded Preach It, Teach It, a pastoral teaching site that provides countless resources, including articles, sermons, podcasts, sermon starters, Bible studies, and devotionals. His family will honor Dr. Barrier’s legacy by continuing the ministry of Ask Roger and preachitteachit.org for years to come as they share more than two thousand still-unpublished sermons and Ask Roger articles.

Drew is a freelance video editor and writer. With a background in film and media arts, he has lent his creative input locally over the years to small businesses as well as friends and family. He is also the co-host and editor of his own podcast, offering encouragement to listeners to seek truth and meaning. In his free time he is an avid hiker and bike rider with an extensive love for the outdoors.
