Is the Nokbox really fireproof?
According to the product page for the Nokbox Fireproof, the manufacturer tested the fire-resistant box and deemed it fireproof. The folks at Nokbox also ran a similar at-home test and discovered that fire didn’t burn the box, even after 15 minutes. However, they also recommend that you keep irreplaceable documents in your Protected Documents bag, included in your Nokbox kit. Should you buy a Nokbox?
Sometimes, companies make exaggerated claims about their products. It’s the name of the marketing game, after all. You have to hook your customers before you reel them in! Before I received the Original Nokbox, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. Was it a gimmick? The sort of product that might be featured on an infomercial in the ’90s but didn’t quite live up to its promises?
And, most importantly, could it truly simplify something as stressful as estate planning?
Here’s my honest opinion.
The Nokbox is worth the money and the hype. It’s everything it claimed to be: self-explanatory, easy to use, and the perfect organizational tool for any household and estate. All the folders are clearly labeled, with easy-to-follow directions that make organization a breeze. The box itself feels sturdy and well-made. Plus, it’s a great size—big enough to fit all your documents easily but small enough not to demand too much space in your home. When I showed the box to my mom, she said, “This is such a cool idea.” That was also my first impression when I opened the box and leafed through all the different folders. Interestingly enough, I talked to a former coworker who’d seen a Facebook ad for Nokbox but had yet to take the plunge and buy one. She told me that all of her important documents are scattered throughout her house, and she’d like to have them all in one place. I told her that was exactly what the Nokbox is for and added that I felt it was well worth the money. And that’s what I’d tell anyone, regardless of their age or financial situation.
For full disclosure, I, myself, am not quite in the estate-planning demographic yet.
