We like to ask ourselves questions throughout this process. How long has the assisted living facility been in business? Do the rooms have emergency call systems? Are they pet-friendly? What sets them apart from other assisted living facilities?
- Next, we read real customer reviews on platforms like Google and Yelp. We also check their rating on U.S News & World Report! If a facility has a five-star rating on Yelp but a three-star rating on Google, we like to figure out why. Did one or two users have a bad experience that seemed like an anomaly? Or do multiple reviews mention poor living conditions (i.e., dirty rooms or a high staff turnover rate)?
- And finally, we do a little poking around on social media. Namely, Facebook and Instagram, though we also check out their YouTube channel if it exists!
