Best Nursing Homes Near Denver
Finding a nursing home isn’t difficult. But finding the right one? Let’s just say that it isn’t for the faint of heart. We hear horror stories about these facilities for a reason! And while it certainly isn’t impossible to find a good nursing home online, it can take a lot of time and effort. If you don’t want to waste a precious second on yet another Google search, then you’ve come to the right place! We’ve already found the BEST nursing homes in Denver.
Our research process:
- We start with a Google search, where we find the nursing homes with the highest ratings and best reviews. From there, we visit their websites and try to gather as much information as possible. For example, are they a standalone facility or part of a larger community? What services do they offer? Do they offer short-term care, long-term care, or both? We also note any awards or certifications each facility has.
- Next, we circle back around to Google and Yelp to read some reviews! We take all opinions into account, both good and bad. If someone has a complaint, especially about the staff or living conditions, we take it extremely seriously. We also check each facility’s rating on U.S. News & World Report.
- Finally, we check every facility’s social media, if they have one. Generally, this includes Facebook, Instagram, and sometimes YouTube. If we find their YouTube channel, we link the videos in our article so you can also watch them!
Author’s note: While we absolutely love doing research and helping seniors, we also encourage you to do your own research and choose a nursing home accordingly! And remember, reviews and testimonials paint only half the picture. In other words, make sure you visit each of these nursing homes in person! Once you’re there, don’t be afraid to ask questions and take thorough mental notes. Is the nursing home clean? Does it seem safe and secure? What about the staff? Did they greet you with a smile, or did they seem irritated by your presence? Were they happy to answer all your questions? Did they rush you through the tour? What were the rooms like? If a nursing home doesn’t seem right, then don’t be afraid to walk away and look elsewhere. Your gut knows better than any Google review or glowing testimonial!
