Best Nursing Homes Near Greensboro, NC

Finding the right nursing home can sometimes feel impossible. No, really. If you Google “nursing homes near me”, you’ll probably get dozens of results, each with dozens (if not hundreds) of reviews to comb through. And that’s just on one platform! The good news? We’ve already taken care of the hard part for you! As in, we’ve done our homework and found the BEST nursing homes in the Greensboro area.
Our research process:
- We start by visiting each nursing home’s website and reading through all the available info: customer testimonials, FAQ pages, etc. If there are photo galleries on the website, we peruse them. If there are videos, we watch them. If there are awards or certifications, we make a mental note of them. Basically, we leave no stone unturned!
- Next, we read real customer reviews on platforms like Google and Yelp. We don’t just read the positive reviews and call it a day. We also make sure to read the negative ones. Specifically, we like to see why the reviewer gave it a low score. Did their loved one not receive the proper care? Was the facility itself not clean? Have they had a recent bed bug or even roach scare? We also check the ratings for each nursing home on other platforms, like U.S. News & World Report and Medicare.gov.
- And finally, we check their social media presence, usually on Facebook and Instagram. A lot of communities post about their celebrations and activities on these platforms, which gives us a good idea of what life is like for their residents!
Author’s note: While we LOVE doing research and helping seniors, we also strongly encourage all our readers to do their own research and visit each of these communities in person. Testimonials and reviews paint only half of the picture. So, schedule an in-person visit if possible. Take your time and ask yourself some important questions. Does the facility seem safe? Is it clean? Also, take note of how the staff treats you. Are they friendly? Do they seem to want to rush you through the tour or answer your questions as quickly as possible? And what about the residents? Do they seem happy and well-taken-care-of? Does the nursing home offer all the services and amenities that would make your life there comfortable? In the end, if you don’t think a certain nursing home is the right fit for you, listen to your instincts! They know better than any website testimonial or Google review!
