SHARE! Collaborative Housing provides an immediate housing solution for individuals in Los Angeles, offering them a place to call home. For those in need of housing, assistance is available by calling 1-877-742-7349.
This program operates as a public-private partnership, delivering affordable, permanent, and supportive housing to disabled individuals in single-family homes throughout Los Angeles County. Residents live with others facing similar challenges, such as veterans, mental health consumers, those managing diabetes, or individuals coping with trauma, in a college roommate-style arrangement. Monthly rent ranges from approximately $600 to $950, and homes are fully furnished.
The homeowners involved in SHARE! Collaborative Housing provide the furnishings, cover all utilities, and do not require security deposits, credit checks, or background checks from residents. Rent is paid directly to the homeowner through disability benefits or other income sources.
Since November 2005, SHARE! has been facilitating access to Collaborative Housing in the Los Angeles area and currently supports more than 40 homes. This initiative is backed by key organizations, including the L.A. County Department of Health Services, the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, and the L.A. County Department of Mental Health.
