Medicare sends a bill to individuals who pay their Part A premium, Part B premium, and/or Part D IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount) directly to Medicare. This bill, known as the “Medicare Premium Bill” or CMS-500 form, serves as an invoice for your premium payments. It’s important to note that, as per Medicare: “Most people don’t get a bill from Medicare because they get these premiums deducted automatically from their Social Security.”

Depending on how often you get your bill, it’ll pay for next month’s coverage, or future months if you receive your bill every three months. Additionally, your bill will list the dates you’re paying for.
