Mr. Self is a member of the firm of Apperson Crump PLC, the oldest continually functioning law firm in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) since 2004. The Certified Elder Law Attorney certification is made by the National Elder Law Foundation, the only national organization certifying specialization of elder and special needs law recognized by the state of Tennessee. He has also been elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
His elder law practice includes estate planning, long term care and Medicaid planning, conservatorships, special needs trusts and administration of decedents’ estates. A member of the Special Needs Alliance, a major part of his practice is devoted to special needs planning for persons with disabilities.
