We start by finding the top-rated retirement communities with the most reviews on Google. From there, we check out every community’s website and try to gather as much information as possible. For example, are they an independent living community, or do they offer other senior living options that might prove useful if your health needs change? Are they pet-friendly? What sort of amenities do they offer? We also note any awards every community has earned and resident testimonials!
Next, we circle back around to Google and read real customer reviews! We take all opinions into account, both positive and negative, and cross-reference reviews on both Google and Yelp. Sometimes, communities have different ratings on different platforms. When that’s the case, we always try to figure out the disparity. Did someone have a one-off negative experience? Or do multiple reviewers mention the same thing?
And finally, we check every community’s social media presence. AKA, if they have a Facebook or Instagram, we’re sure to dig through those, too! We also try to find their YouTube channels, if they exist, so we can see with our own eyes what life in every community is like!
