Sebring is a city in Highlands County, Florida. Also known as the City on the Circle, it’s the center of the Downtown Historic District. Lake Istokpoga Park has many amenities including bathrooms, nature trails, a large fishing pier and boardwalk, and a double boat ramp. Highlands Hammock State Park is Florida’s oldest state park and offers camping, picnicking, hiking, biking, cycling, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, and tram tours. Plus, there’s a museum dedicated to the accomplishments of the men and boys of the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s and early 1940s.
Airboat Wildlife Adventures, located at Neibert’s Fishing Resort, provides 1.5-hour-long airboat ride tours to present a diverse range of scenery and Florida wildlife. Tour areas include Lake Istokpoga and the beautiful Arbuckle Creek. Frog gigging trips, and gator and duck hunting trips are also available.
The Palms of Sebring is Highlands County’s only retirement community that offers three levels of living. There are independent and assisted living options in spacious, private apartments.
