Senior Students
Annemarie – DaisySenior citizens who wish to take classes at UNM-Taos may qualify for the special senior tuition rate of $7.00 per credit hour. To qualify, you must:
be age 65 or older,
be a New Mexico resident as defined by the Residency Classification guidelines (For more information on residency requirements, go to: http://admissions.unm.edu and click on Residency)
be registered for no more than six credit hours
register on or after the first day of classes for each semester.
Step One: Fill out and submit an admissions form.
If you have not taken classes at UNM-Taos or any other post-secondary institution for more than a year, you must apply as a returning student.

There is a one-time application fee of $15.00* due when you submit your application. This fee may be paid by cash, check, or credit card in the Cashier’s Office, Room 6, 1157 County Road 110, Ranchos de Taos, NM 87557, or by enclosing a check with your mailed-in application.
* If you were ever enrolled at UNM-Taos or any other UNM campus, the $15.00 application fee is waived.
Step Two: Arrange to have your official transcript(s) sent to us*.
If your intention is to enroll in a degree program, and you have earned fewer than 26 college credit hours, you must submit high school transcripts or GED records, unless they are already on record with UNM-Taos.
If your intention is to enroll in a degree program, and you have earned more than 25 college credit hours, you must submit your previous college transcripts.
If your intention is to enroll in a Certificate program and you are applying for financial aid, you must submit high school transcripts or GED records. If you have earned more than 25 college credit hours, you must submit your previous college transcripts.
If you do not intend to seek a degree or certificate, you do not need to submit academic transcripts.
To submit academic transcripts, contact your high school and/or previous college registrar’s office and ask them to send your transcript to:

* If your high school or previous college mails your transcript to you by mistake, DO NOT OPEN THE ENVELOPE. We must receive official transcripts in a sealed envelope.
You should receive an acceptance letter in about a week. If this letter does not arrive or contains inaccurate or confusing information, contact Student Affairs at (575) 737-6200.
