Our research process:

1. Our searches start where most internet searches do: Google! We find the highest-rated adult day care centers with the most reviews. Then, if they have a website, we go there to find out more about them. What sort of services do they offer? Do they accept Medicaid? Private pay? Insurance? What sort of activities can participants expect to enjoy? Will they be expected to drive themselves to the center, or does it offer round-trip transportation? How many days a week are they in operation? How long have they been in operation? Basically, we try to figure out as much information as possible!
2. Next, we circle back around to the place where it all started and read what customers are saying on Google. We don’t just read the positive reviews and call it a day. We take the negative reviews into account, too! We also check to see what Yelp users are saying. If a center has a high rating on Google and a low one on Yelp—or vice versa—we always try to dig into why. Did a user have a one-off negative experience, or do multiple reviews mention X, Y, or Z?
3. And finally, we check their social media presence. AKA, if they have a Facebook or Instagram, we’re sure to dig through those, too! We also like to watch YouTube videos, if a center has a channel!
