Windward Seniors Day Care Center is a non-profit organization in Kailua, Hawaii that is dedicated to providing daytime care for adults, including those with special needs such as frailty or memory impairments like Alzheimer’s or dementia. They’ve been serving families for nearly 50 years, making them the most experienced daytime care center for adults on the Windward side of Oahu.
The center offers uplifting programs for mind, body, and spirit, including music and live entertainment, hands-on art projects, social activities, nutritious hot lunches and snacks, and intergenerational visits and pet therapy. These activities aim to keep participants engaged, connected, and satisfied in their daily lives.
They are located at 77 North Kainalu Drive, adjacent to St. Christopher’s Church, near the center of Kailua town. The location is surrounded by beautifully appointed grounds under the shade of a large monkey pod tree, offering plenty of free parking.
The center operates from Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Currently, their Saturday program is temporarily suspended, and no extended hours are available.
Windward Seniors Day Care Center believes that finances should never be a hurdle to quality care and respite. Through a generous grant awarded by the Kupuna Aging in Place Fund, they offer a new Tuition Assistance Program that provides qualifying participants and their families up to half off their normal rates.
In addition, they also offer a complimentary day of care for prospective clients to experience their island “home away from home.”
