- And finally, we check their social media presence. AKA, if they have a Facebook or Instagram, we’re sure to dig through those, too!
Author’s note: While we LOVE doing research and helping seniors, we also strongly encourage all our readers to do their own research and visit each of these communities in person. Testimonials and reviews paint only half of the picture. So, schedule an in-person visit if possible. Take your time and ask yourself some important questions. Does the facility seem safe? Is it clean? Is the staff kind and professional? Are they able to answer all your questions, and do they seem happy or reluctant to do so? Do the residents seem happy and well-taken-care-of? Does the facility offer all the services and amenities that would make your life there comfortable? In the end, if you don’t think a certain nursing home is the right fit for you, listen to your gut!
