I am a senior 71 years that was trying to get an apartment in Riverbend Senior Apartments. I was denied due to collections. I was told if I submit paperwork to state why I had the collections and show that I was taking care of them I would be reconsidered for the next apartment. I took the paper work and was told that i need to submit to the screening company that would make the decision through the compliance office. Called screening coming and was told this was not true it would be up to management. I requested the denial letter and was told they could not access it. Frustrated now I will be homeless by the first of the month and my income shows that I could make monthly rent payment. Collections was due to me taking care of my mother with dementia for 6 years in which I quit a job at DTE Energy to provide her care. Sad to be a senior and not able to get help and also fell like you are getting the run around.
