For today’s podcast we’re diving into why it’s so important to remember that modifying a workout is always available to you when exercising.
Workout modifications should always be considered when you are choosing your next exercise routine. Keeping your body safe and healthy is the number one priority in fitness. Becoming injured or sore because you are doing movements that cause pain or put your body at risk is not the outcome we want when exercising.
Being able to take a workout and modify the movements so that you can do them safely and securely is key to keeping you up and moving and onto the next exercise.
1). Why it’s so important to consider modifying your workouts to adhere to your body and your range of motion and how that can positively affect you mentally and physically.
2). How modifying a workout doesn’t always necessarily mean simplifying the exercises, you can also modify workout to make them more intense and challenging or “modifying up”.
3). Why Meredith thinks it’s important to provide a wide range of variety in workouts that can also be modified up or down.
4). Why it’s important to remember that even though you may be following someone during an online workout, it’s all about you and getting your exercise in and that’s why modifications (if needed) are so important to remember.
5). Why there is nothing wrong with modifying any workout whether online or in person. You know your body best and you can always make the decision to do what best for you.
